ME ENGINE-FAMILIARIZATION COURSE
Objective: The objective of an ME engine course for shipping is to equip participants with the knowledge and skills to operate and maintain ME engines safely and efficiently. The course covers a range of topics, Engine design, principles, and operation, Troubleshooting, Control system management, Control system management, Instrumentation and controls, Human resources and management
Subject Areas:
This Course meets the requirements of STCW Reg V/1-2 and Code Section A-V/1-2, paragraph 2, Table A-V/1-2-1. of the STCW Convention and Code as amended in 2010 and is in compliance with IMO model 1.05.
Course Content:
- Introduction of electronically controlled camshaft-less two stroke marine engine (MAN ME-C series).
- ME Concept
- Safe operation and analysis of the engine, main operating panel and local operating panel, engine diagnostics system, CoCoS-EDS and PMI.
- Demonstration on engine control system, hydraulic power supply (HPS) units, hydraulic control units (HCU), cylinder control unit (CCU), engine interface control unit (EICU), auxiliary control unit (ACU), self cleaning filters, HPS pumps and valves.
- Replacement of Multi-Purpose Controller (MPC).
- Practical exercises involving operation and troubleshooting
