Objective: The course satisfies the minimum standards of competences under STCW A/II-2 for navigation in ice.

- Planning a passage in Ice covered waters.
- Ice classifications of ships.
- Principle of ice breaker operation & Navigation with Ice breaker assistance.
- Mooring operations in ice covered waters.
- requirement of Section A-II/2, Table A-II/2 and Section A-II/3, Table A-II/3
- of the STCW Code as amended 2010.
