Objective: The objective of this course is to support corrosion prevention and control during the lifecycle of the vessel. The course familiarizes trainees with corrosion mitigation, coating application, and inspection practices.
Course Content:
- Corrosion basics
- Corrosion control process (Surface prep by tools, abrasives and blasting)
- Correct procedure for surface preparation
- Preparation of standard tools used for surface preparation (Hand tool, Power tool, Hydro blasting)
- Assessing surface cleanliness
- Composition of various type of paint.
- Impact of Temp, Dew point, Humidity on the application of paint.
- Coating basics for brush and roll application
- Brush and roll application
- Use of wet and dry film thickness gages
- Safety during hand and power tool cleaning and brush and roll application
