Liquid Cargo Handling Simulator (OIL) (REFRESHER)
Objective:
On completing the course, the Trainees, will:
• Have acquired a greater awareness of the proper pre-planning, use of the Ship-Shore Safety Checklist and of the implementation of safe procedures during loading/discharge of crude oil and petroleum products.
• Be able to take precautions to prevent cargo-generated flammability, electrostatic and toxicity hazards.
• Be able to prepare, perform and monitor all cargo operations, including inerting and gas freeing, tank cleaning operations and crude oil washing.
• Have acquired experience in identifying operational problems and making decisions to solving them.
• Be better familiar with the cargo handling equipment, instrumentation, devices and alarms.

Subject Areas:
This course meets the requirements laid down in Regulation 1/12, Sections A-1/12 and Table A-V/1-1-2 of the STCW Convention and Code as amended in 2010 and is in compliance with IMO Model Course 2.06.
Course Content:
- Familiarization with all cargo equipment & instrumentation and controls.
- Planning of cargo loading & discharging operations on a loading computer.
- Line up for Loading, Discharging, COW, Ballasting, Inerting & Gas freeing.
- Monitor loading, stability, care during the voyage and unloading of oil cargoes
- Identify common operational problems and respond to emergencies related to oil tanker operation.
- Understand all operations of an oil tanker for a Drydock-to-Drydock cycle.
