Objective: To understand the foundations of PSC, such as the basic regulations, the regional agreements, the selection of ships, and the inspection procedures. To understand the different risk factors and criteria that affect the inspection frequency and outcome. To be informed about good preparation for PSC inspections, the role of the ISM system, the importance of reporting defects, and the impact of the planned maintenance system.
Subject Areas:
The provisions of International Regulations and Conventions under which Port State Control inspections are conducted and explains the procedures for conduct of these inspections as laid down by IMO Resolution A.1185 (33).
